Description

The Cow and Calf  Weathervane. An intimate moment between mother and calf captured permanently on this working weathervane. Mother cow is encouraging the calf to face away from the wind while heading right into it herself. Mothers do this sort of thing for their offspring. https://kb.rspca.org.au

For cows to produce milk, they have to give birth to a calf. … Some calves are reared as veal. However, about three quarters of the heifers will become replacements for adult milk-producing cows. Heifer calves are also reared and then exported to dairy farms overseas. Bobby calves may also be killed on farm.

A bobby calf is:

  • No more than 30 days old.
  • usually weighs less than 80kg live weight.
  • Is commonly a dairy breed or cross.
  • They are sold for meat or reared for dairy-beef.

Approximately 400,000 bobby calves are processed each year in Australia supporting local jobs and providing a valuable protein resource.

This is the ideal present for someone that you know who wants to add that special something to their home. Perhaps even treat yourself.

Well balanced and proportionally correct these Australian made weathervanes from Glenview Products actually work.

All our weathervanes are powder-coated. You can have any colour so long as it is black.

Installation

stainless steel mounting plate is available for fixing to a flat surface such as the ridge line of a metal roof or a wooden garden post.

Alternatively there is a stainless steel gable bracket available for fixing to the apex of the gable (see Fixing Brackets).

If you would like to order a fixing bracket to suit this product, please select from the product options above.

Fixing brackets ordered with an Aussie Weathervane will not incur any additional delivery charges.

Which one to use ?

  • The Stainless Steel Gable Bracket  is used to attach the weathervane to the face of the Gable. Suitable for both Tile and Metal Roofs.
  • Because the shaft extends down the face of the Gable, it is 200mm longer than the ridge line bracket.
  • Stainless Steel Mounting Plate is supplied flat with laser cut slots which allow plate to be bent to the exact pitch of the roof).
  • Used on the roof ridge of metal roofs. Also adaptable to flat surfaces and mounting on posts.

Purchasing the suitable bracket makes installation easy and enjoyable
