Cherubim Weathervane Antiqued
This Cherubim complete with trumpet Heralds the arrival of the angellic host. Theologically speaking the Cherubim is one of a class of spiritual beings or attendants of God (in medieval angelology divided, according to their rank, into nine orders, ranging from higest to lowest as follows: seraphim, cherubim, thrones, dominations or dominions, virtues, powers, principalities or princedoms, archangels, angels). However on a practical note the Cherubim weather vane has been created by joining two copper halves to form the Cherubim's body, this is then mounted onto a brass base and pivot tube and has the conventional copper spheres seperating the figure from the cast brass directionals which point out north, south, east and west. All of this is mounted on a 3/4" solid steel shaft to project it above the roof line to be noticed and admired. The larger sillouette of this weather vane catches more wind and makes it an extremely effective wind direction indicator.
