Description

Ned Kelly weathervanes is a direct link to the early colonial days. Born in 1855 of a proud Irish Catholic family. Life was tough in those days, his actions were born out of police injustice. Some say he was a murderous villain, others that he was a folk hero and Australia’s equivalent to Robin Hood. Regardless of what you think of him, his legend lives on. We have all heard and perhaps even used the saying, “as game as Ned Kelly”. He was hanged 11 November 1880 aged just 25, and yet he is still remembered and talked about. I have a soft spot for Ned Kelly, that is why I made this Weathervane.

Made of Stainless Steel this Ned Kelly weathervane will give years and years of enjoyment and service.

How It Works

Both the arrow and the Ned Kelly figure revolve on a ball bearing over a Stainless Steel shaft. Well balanced and proportionally correct these Australian made weathervanes from Glenview Products actually work. The weathervane is powder-coated and like the early Ford motor vehicles, you can have any colour so long as it is black.

Measurements

Ned stands defiantly, 345mm tall and measures from the business end of his pistol to his shoulder 195mm. Rugged as!! The Arrow is 700mm long and the North and South and East and West measure 590mm. Over all the Ned Kelly weathervane is 775mm tall

Which one to use ?

Which one ?

Gable Bracket (Stainless Steel) is used for attaching to the face of the Gable. Suitable for both Tile and Metal Roofs. Because the shaft extends down the face of the Gable, it is 200mm longer than the ridge line bracket.

Stainless Steel Mounting Plate (supplied flat with laser cut slots to allow plate to be bent to the exact pitch of the roof). Used on the roof ridge of metal roofs. Also adaptable to flat surfaces and mounting on posts.

No Mounting Bracket when only the Weathervane is required. Purchasing the suitable bracket makes installation easy and enjoyable
